Since 1982, Knights of Columbus have served the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception with the Basilica Usher Program. This ministry is a Supreme Council program overseen by the State Deputies of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

This rewarding program provides important service to the pilgrims and visitors to the National Shrine. Knights are the “face of the Basilica” as they offer hospitality and welcome visitors. During Mass they assist with the collection of gifts for the Offertory, guard the Blessed Sacrament during the Communion procession and assist in enhancing the worship experience of the congregation in many other ways.
Please consider serving with reverence and dignity as a Knight in the Basilica Usher Program.
For more info contact Andrew Michaels at: ShrineUsher@gmail.com, or call/text to (240) 429-6889.
Please encourage Brother Knights to participate and invite Council and Parish families to visit the Basilica for weekend or daily Mass and other special events. Invite gentlemen from your Parish to join you. Often men are inspired to serve at the Basilica and decide to become Knights on that account. Help grow the Order and the Basilica Usher Program.
Remember to include this message in your council newsletter and Parish bulletin.
